Fishstiks, the food of the mighty!

So I forgot to tell you guys about this and it happened a couple of days ago...or maybe it was last week, but I digress. Steph and I were getting ready for bed, I was playing my PSP and Steph was doing her nails. Suddenly there was this intense rapping upon the aluminum door. A violent pounding with a sense of importance. Leaping from my twin bed I threw myself into the hallway, worry stirring in my soul. Flinging the door open I stared into darkness. As I stood there dumbfounded, Stephanie called to me meekly, "Who is it?" Slinking into the darkness, I checked the second and first floor and my ears strained for the faintest hint of movement...there was none. Slowly closing our apartment door behind us I wondered if one of our roommates was trying to mess with us. Stephanie suggested that I check to see if Heather was home, since Courtney was at work. Checking their bathroom door, I was surprised to find it locked. Walking into the livingroom I approached their bedroom door. I knocked firmly and inquired to the occupants within. I was answered by silence. Slowly I reached for the knob and found it locked. Confused I walked back over to my friend ot suggest maybe Heather and her boyfriend were having "alone time" and as I opened my mouth, we both heard the door unlock itself. Oooooheeeoooh. Creepy right? Our roomies thought it was funny, but me and Steph got the heck out of there and went to the Security shack to ask if anyone was pranking people or something. So yea, we made fools of ourselves.
Steph has a horrible sinus infection and I'm hoping I don't get it. Today it rained at work and it was kind of funny. I was walking back from the bungalows, where I go to get my check, and suddenly I hear the rain start lightly. As I was walking back to my attraction (keep in mind this is another 15 minute walk) I hear the rain behind me become more intense. The rain chased me!! Seriously, I started running and the rain chased me! And the droplets were big and cold. I was shocked because the drops of rain hitting me were so cold, I thought it was hail and freaked out. When I made it back, my backside was wet and my front was spotted with rain. It wasn't so funny as I sat in the freezing breakroom. Any other time it's not cold enough, but the A/C was working fine during the thunderstorm! Hehehe, it was pretty funny though. Oh, and I just need to tell you guys...I LOVE your comments and e-mails! I miss you guys and do this so you guys know that I am thinking of you all even if I don't talk to you guys. I need to go ahead and get ready for bed. G'night guys!

To the jungles of Africa, Asia, and so on!

Yesterday we went to the Animal Kingdom and let me tell you...that truly was an adventure. We had to ride a tram allllllll the way to the entrance of the park, then hoof it to Dinosaur. I love that ride because it's scary and totally awesome! We rode it twice, rode Mt. Everest, did the Primeval Whirl (it's like one of those rides at the state fair), It's tough to be a bug, and the Nemo Musical. At some point we met up with Heather (Courtney's roomie) and her friend and it stormed at some point...but that's not all. The true adventure was when we were waiting for It's tough to be a bug and suddenly I feel someone pinch my butt. Alarmed and confused I whirl around to see no one standing there, but someone still clinging to the butt of my jeans. When I look down and there's a three-year old little girl just grinning up at me. I was like "Why hello there! Aren't you friendly?" Her mom was mortified and kept apologizing, but it was kind of funny once you get past the fact a three-year old molested me. I told her mom to watch out for her because she might be a partier when she gets older. As the show ended there's a part when Flik asks you to let the bugs leave first and suddenly again, my butt is molested by the seats in the theater (it was supposed to simulate bugs crawling under your seat, but I thought the bugs were supposed to go under your feet). So then we're waiting for Dinosaur (our second go 'round) and suddenly again I feel my butt being palmed by someone. Remembering last time (which was like 10min ago) I looked down to see a little boy playing with my backpack and just hanging out. I again said hi to the child and he then became shy and fled back to his parents who just kind of looked at me. I wanted to say, "I assure you ma'am, I have no interest in your little boy touching my butt....I'd watch him if I were you." Eventually, after making it home and keeping my butt hidden behind my backpack, my butt had to bump Courtney's car door closed and we all agreed that my butt had had lots of action this day. When we got home we all joked about how they had got their quality 'Kendra time.' It's funny because I realized that I'm kind of like the center of the universe here (or more accurately, my magnetism lol), because I've hung out with all of them, but none of them have really got to hang out with each other. Like, Stephanie and Courtney work together so they see each other all the time, but neither of them really get to talk to Heather. I get to talk to Heather because she comes home after me and then she goes to her boyfriends apartment and then Steph and Courtney come home, so I talk to Courtney for a while. It's an odd confusing sort of web. I'm just glad that we all get along with each other and respect one another. Plus, my hours at work are awesome!! noon to 6pm pretty much everyday. It rocks. Well I guess me and Steph and Courtney are going to hang out together and watch movies today so I'll leave you all with some pictures from yesterday.

Oh noes! A Carnotaurus!

Hmm...yea. Our friend across the hall, Andrea, is friends with Stanley!

Some people shouldn't breed...

If you really want to view the depths of man's stupidity, just go to an over-priced theme park and watch the fun begin! It doesn't matter how many times someone is told something, they'll still ask after being told it. When you try to direct people one way, they'll go another. Or if you ask them to move out of the reserved seating for people with special needs, they complain about "retards" and "cripples." I tell you, the inhumanity is enough to drive one insane. ...Good thing I've been insane for a while a now. Of course it's still hard to control yourself when people are nasty, and you keep smiling trying to tell them it's just your job. At the time it's never funny, but when you get home and think about the poor sap that was cruel to you earlier, you can only laugh at how idiotic that person truly was. Of course I kept taking comfort in my brand new sneakers and how shiny they were. My new shoes give me +5 speed and agility...those of you who know RPG's (role-playing games) hopefully get that reference! I'm getting along better at work with everyone and I got sunburned.........again. Eventually I'll have the most awesomest farmer's tan ever! My hair's getting lighter. I keep wanting to bring an egg to work just to see if it would fry. I bet it would, because it's hotter than you know where. Tomorrow I'm off and me and Courtney are going to adventure in the parks and wreck havoc upon the castmembers of the central Florida area. Muwahahaha. Unfortunately I'll need to do my laundry at some point during our adventure tomorrow. The evil sweat monster has conquered my clothing and Steph's, therefore it must be vanquished. Alright guys, I'm sunburned and exhausted, so I'm off to bed and maybe a shower... We'll see where I pass out.

Trip to the outlet mall

So today I ventured forth to the outlet mall to buy myself some new sneakers. I waited for them to open their doors at 10am and I hate doing that to other people. You know where everyone gathers outside and waits for you to open the doors? BUT...it was emergency today so I had not other choice. I found a pair of solid black Nike and some athletic black socks for $63.83. So now I have some nifty comfy sneakers that actually helped me leap more lightly from one bleacher to another and climb those stairs quicker. I need to make a commercial for them. Not much really happened today and I'm really tired and watching a movie. I'll write a better blog entry for y'all tomorrow, talk to you guys later! G'night.

The Hunt

The sun shone high in the alluring crystal blue of the sky. Heat settled among the beings climbing the silver steps of the shrine. One hunter, far from her fellow hunters surveyed the area around her. The evil orange fiend had slipped somewhere near her. Carefully leaping from one silver step to another, she ascended into the unknown, until she heard the rustling. Steeling her will and grasping firmly her make-shift weapon, Kendra leapt at the Cheeto and managed to snag it into her dust pan before it could float any further. And now I currently feast on the cousin of the Cheeto...Doritos. So how's everyone's day? Mine went well until the skies decided to drown me as my shift ended. But I got some raingear and the only thing that got wet was my sneakers, socks and the bottom part of my pants. Ha! I beat you weather! It stormed pretty bad for a while, and it was insane watching the clouds roll in. Oh, if you're wondering about the first part of this post, we have to sweep and "pick" the stadium after each show. I had a bag of Cheetos some wonderful child decided to leave for Mickey and his friends, scooting away from me before I could get to it. Needless to say it distributed its contents all over my area. At least I got some exercise. I'm like Pollyanna, playing the "Glad Game" everytime something is usually perceived as bad or negative. I might need some new sneakers though because my shoes had mini-lakes in them...I might just see if I can get them to dry before tomorrow. I wanted to stay in the park and play, but the thunderstorm told me otherwise...maybe tomorrow. This morning me and Steph adventured a little bit because she drove me to work. Unfortunately, she decided to talk on her cell phone too, so we ended up taking a new road and paying $2 for the adventure in tolls! Yay! Eventually we'll get a Sun Pass for $24.99 at Publix. It's really weird not having a Kroger around, but Publix is nice. They actually bag your groceries and offer to carry them to your car and they cannot accept tips, it's cool! I've also come to realize that most grocery stores seem to have the same set-up. When you walk in, they have vegetables/fruits and a deli and "health snacks" to the right, meats to the back, dairy and milk in the back left-hand corner, and a pharmacy to the left. It's really weird, pay attention to it next time you go to Krogers or something. Yea...well I'm going to finish my Doritos and just have Kendra time for a while. Later guys!

Okay, let's clear this up...

My mom says that it sounds like I hate my job and yadda yadda yadda. The truth is, I hate being out in the sun (dying), but deep down I do like my job (deep deep down). I mean, it sucks I'm outside in the blazing heat and sweating and chaffing, but when I watch the guests faces when they watch the show, it reminds me of what I'm here for. I'm here to make magic for others and I love that part of my job. The truth is, everyone hates their job in some way or another and I don't mean to make this blog a rant about my stay here. So I just wanted to clear that up for everyone. I'm having adventures, unfortunately they're more like misadventures at this point. But did I mention when I rode the Norway ride by myself it was creepy. I almost closed my eyes when the trolls started scolding me for coming into their swamp and I was all like "but dudes I'm on a viking ship that is on a track so I can't help it." Darn trolls. They're so whiny. And when I rode Test Track I was with two little British kids who kept screaming and freaking out when we sped up or whatever. At the end though they kept repeating "that was jolly good wasn't it?" Gotta love the Brits! Did I mention I'm getting an awesome tan...an awesome farmer's tan! Ha! Okay, just thought I'd clear all that up and I promise to make my days sound more adventurous or something. G'night peoples!

Here lizard, lizard...

So here in the grand ole sunny state of Florida, we have these wonderful little lizards that are everywhere! They literally come in all sizes and colors imaginable. I really want to catch one. I had to do laundry today and as I was walking towards the laundromat across the small parking lot, I come across the Godzilla of all lizards! He was humongous and black and tan. I swear he was holding a meeting to conspire against all of the unsuspecting college program kids. He had like 10 smaller lizards surrounding him. It was weird. Today we also went to Property Control and bought some our of Christmas presents for everyone. And then we got some more groceries...all in all a terribly boring day. I took a much needed shower and spent most of the day trying to do various chores. It's getting ready to storm again and it's sounding like it's going to be bad. Oh did I ever mention we only get 23 channels on our living room TV. It sucks when you're trying to channel surf and there's nothing on. Tonight I'm going to fill out some forms and stuff. Next Wednesday, me and Courtney are going to go to Animal Kingdom. Her and Steph have really long and odd hours and Steph isn't off the same day as me. I have really good hours at my job though. I'm always off at 6 or 6:45pm at the latest and the earliest I had to go in at was 10am and now it'll be at 11am because my attraction went to only two shows a day, so yay!! My little sister bought a camera to record herself on so that she could make videos for me and Steph. The videos are really cute and I don't feel as homesick when I watch them. Thank goodness for youtube, huh? You can find everything on it and my sister puts her videos on it and then sends them to me on my myspace. I've been trying to enjoy the fact I have the apartment to myself for the evening, but I ended up hanging out with Andrea who dropped her cell phone in toilet. It wasn't very pretty. Her roommate is horrible and never puts the toilet seat back down and doesn't even talk to Andrea. Then again you really shouldn't have your cell in the bathroom with you, but I kept that to myself as she was really upset about it. I guess I'll try to enjoy the rest of my evening as quietly as I can. G'night guys!!

Oh boy!

Epcot, you gotta love it with it's alcohol from 11 different countries and all the cool "futuristic" stuff that you walk through to get to those different countries. I went by myself today until Andrea (our friend from across the hall) called me and wanted to come too! So I took the bus back to the apartment and met her and then took the bus back to Epcot. Of course during this time it stormed. I mean it stormed something fierce. We only got to ride Soarin' and Stephanie was our flight attendant, hehehe. Before I met up with Andrea, I rode Test Track and then the two boat rides in Mexico and Norway...by myself. But I had fun! I also got to get my kaki-gori from Japan (shaved ice to you Americans). Unfortunately, I failed horribly at making any friends with the Japanese kids, it was kind of funny to watch me try to keep up a conversation with them. They seemed so uninterested, but the little old lady who I bought my kaki-gori from talked to me, so I guess my effort wasn't completely wasted. I even ordered in Japanese! Eventually, I'll need to take the timeto catch up on my Japanese and test for my Japanese Language pin. Let's hope I pass it. I'm off again tomorrow and I still need to decide what to do. I might go to Animal Kingdom or my park. I just can't decide...hmm. I really had to refrain myself from buying souvenirs for everyone today! I can't wait for my mom, sister, and my cousin Billy to come and visit me and Steph for Christmas. I just hope I'll have enough time to spend with them and I won't have to work a whole bunch! For now, I think I may take this time to enjoy a little bit of quiet time to myself while Steph and Courtney are still at work. Which means I actually get to watch TV!! ...Instead I'll opt to finish my zombie book I've been reading. It's called World War Z, and it's a pretty good book. It was written by the same author who wrote the Zombie Survival Guide and he just so happens to be Mel Brooks son! So there's plenty of dark and tounge-in-cheek humor all wrapped up in the guise of realism. Okay guys I'm off to enjoy the rest of my evening and I hope all is well.

Yeah, can you tell me when Fantastic is?

So I love guests, but at the same time they drive me completely and utterly insane. It's amazing the lack of respect they have for others and other people's property. If you haven't figured it out yet, I worked strollers yet again. While waiting for the sow to start and before we let people in though, I talk to the guests because I love them anyway. One of my favorite questions besides "When's the 3 o'clock parade?" is "What time is Fantastic(Fantasmo, etc anyhting besides the actual show name)?" Tonight I got to go see it and it made my day. I had a bit of a horrible day during the second show. I completely lost it and started crying, and the nice British girl I work with helped calm me down. I just pretended Mary Poppins was comforting me. I was originally working strollers and they moved me to VIP where I have to seat wheelchairs and people are almost worse driving them. I swear like when you're waiting for them to come out the elevator they have the ECV on turtle. When they drive it normally and run into people, things, small animals and children, they have the thing on rabbit. It makes no sense, so like I'm waiting for 5 minutes for people to back out of the elevator so I can park them into their spots where wheelchairs are. I'm like, "God I hope you're not allowed to operate a vehicle or heavy machinery..." But anyway, after I got my people parked I suddenly had to help pack people in and direct them up the stairs and for some reason I just got kind of overwhelmed. I don't feel like anyone in my area really likes me and it sucked because the manager kept calling me "Kendall." So I held together after the show was over and broke down when me and the other girl were going to clean the stadium. It's really weird coming from a job where I loved everyone I worked with and actually knew they liked me, even if it was just a little bit, to a job where I'm so insecure and unsure of myself. I'm sure the excessive heat, sweating and getting sunburned is part of it, but hopefully I'll fit in soon. I am trying really hard. The good thing is that me and Stephanie have made really good friends with our two roommates and the girl across the hall. I'll have to post pictures of them later. Tomorrow is my first day off and I'm going to Epcot. I'll make sure to get pictures of myself with the characters or something. You know...I actually wasn't going to post anything tonight, but I talked to my sister and remembered that there are some of you guys I don't get to talk to all the time so this is just about the link for us to be able to communicate. I was terribly homesick, but it's slowly going away whenever I think of the magic I can create for others in such a magical place. I really do wish the ever lovable Coreen, SuperFantabulous Sherry, Uncle Kevin, and all the gang at the Disney Store could come work with me. Well, I need to shower and get ready for a big day tomorrow! I'm going to play all day in the park! G'night guys!!

Oh for the love of...

Today I finally got to be on my own, and I should have known something bad would happen because the day started out fairly easy. I had merge which some of the others seem to think is hard, but I don't think it is. That went fine without any problems. When I had to go do photocell for the second show... I tell you, people can really truly be stupid. You tell them to come one way, they want to go another. Or, my personal favorite, you tell them something twice and they still ask. For example:
Me: Sorry folks, the last show was at (insert time here) and the next show is at (insert time here again). Come about thirty minutes early because we do not have fastpasses and we have not given out any fastpasses at all today.
Random Sunburned Guest: So no fastpass then?
Me: Smacks face in hand after hearing this response twelve thousand times over.

We have to cut off the line at a certain point because our stadium holds approximately 4,862 people. When we cut the line, people kind of turned away grumpy and angry, but they left. One guy was a jerk about it and threw a fit, and said he would be pissed if we let this one guy through (we had to because his 8 year old was by himself in the show). I looked at the guy and said "OK" and he freaked out. I told the guy why we let him and he told me I was full of B.S. So to end a long story he took my name and put it in his little blackberry, and I laughed. Then another got pissy with me because I was yelling at people to follow me to park their strollers. I was like "Sir, I was talking to everyone, not just you." Bleh, it's been a funny stressful day.
I think my tan line is going to be horrible. Like the bottom half of my face is tan and my forehead is white because I wear a cap. I'm already pretty tan and have an awesome watch line on my wrist. Plus, my stamina has gotten better while working down here. I can now go up the steps and not feel as if I'm going to have a coronary. Tonight we're going to go to the movies because I got some passes my first day of training, awesome right? My area is cool because we get stuff sometimes, like ice cream or pretzels. We know that Kendra loves freebies. Well, I'm going to finish getting ready and I just want to tell you guys from home who are reading this, that I miss y'all!!

Canned tuna and ramen

So to go home, I have to ride a bus back to my apartment. Today, the Chinese girls on the bus were so tired that they kept dozing off and I couldn't help but grin because it's sadly adorable. I've actually noticed it with all the asian kids on the bus. They work so hard and when they finally board that bus to go home, they are just zonked out. It's funny. Also today I took my lunch (as I have been since I got here except for twice), and had a nice tuna sandwich. During lunch, I noticed that some of the others eating ramen. Steph and everyone she works with eats tuna or some cheap meat (like bologna). It's funny how we're scraping and saving...although we don't need to. I think it strikes me as everyone is trying to save up for something they're not aware of or maybe they're trying to make sure whatever dreams they have happen. I'm in a really good mood, it could be because Steph and I cheated and had some McDonald's for dinner, lol. We really honestly haven't eaten out since we got except once. I'm really missing the Disney Store because I keep telling people stories about when I worked there and stuff. I also miss my family and animals because I'm always thinking about things they would think is cool or things that would entertain them. Then, I remember where I am and for some reason, although I'm so far from home, I feel at home. At times, it is like I never left here. ...Sorry for going off on a tangent. Anyways, the apartment people are going to replace my bed frame...FINALLY. They'll also be fixing our coffee table and it's sort of silly because we told them these things were broken like last Tuesday. ...I saw a dead snake today. Sorry I just rememebered. We saw it when we were dodging the Backlot Tour tram to go get me a water bottle. So now I can drink water on stage and not feel as if I'm going to die! I really think I've lost a lot of weight working there because I'm sweating so much and running all over the stadium bleachers and back stage area of MGM. It's insane. Okay, since I'm jumping around so much I'll go ahead and stop here for the night. I think maybe I'm past that point of exhaustion where every thought you have is random and frequent. G'night guys!!!!

10-4=affirmative

Know what's really fun? Fun is when your walkie-talkie malfunctions and you're trying to control 50 people long enough to get their wheelchairs and stuff into an elevator that supposedly holds 31 people. I ripped the ear piece out of my ear and screamed at everyone around me to stop for two seconds and be courteous to the people around them for just a second. It was cool, mainly because they listened. I need to go and get a new ear piece tomorrow...and ask for a water bottle. Steph's already been called by her manager to extend for her shift tomorrow, from a 8-2pm to an 8-10pm shift. I feel horrible for her. The trainer I got today was really nice, she's assessing me and she reminded me of my mom's friend Vicki. I'm working on my whole nervous thing because I sometimes forget I am holding people's lives in my hands. Oh and good news- the undershorts worked!! I am a chaff-free woman today. I also ran into someone I used to know a couple of years ago and she really surprised me. She works in guest services. I want to work in guest services really bad. People pay $350 and a guest service cast member will hang out with them for half a day. I won't even make an illusion to the funny yet totally naughty reference that can be made here. Alas, I am super tired and am now going to go lay down and relax.

Good Morning Orlando!

Well last night I was so exhausted by the time I got home, I just could not see straight. I managed to make it through a shower, but after that I don't really remember anything else... Hmm. My hours at the park are good though, because I get off work with 6:45pm being the latest and I think 5:00pm being the earliest. Going in to work, all my hours seem to be 10am to 12pm. It's cool, but right now I'm too tired to go to the parks and it makes me feel like a little kid. Eventually I'll build up the stamina to go straight to a park after work! When I did the program last time I would play in the parks until I had to be at work. Steph's got some good hours too, but she sometimes has to work until 10pm or after. Oh have I mentioned our schedules use military time only? It's funny because most kids here in the college program have never worked a day in their lives and they're like "What is 18:30?!" ...It's 6:30pm for those of you not familiar with military time, because I know not everyone knows military time. My sunburn is slowly fading from my face, but my forehead got really bad and it sort of looks like I have this giant scar across the top of it near my scalp. ...Essentially I still look like a raccoon. I don't think I ever mentioned that my trainer looked like Mr. Roper from Three's Company, but man did he. He sounded like him and did the movements like him too. He was nice though. Today I'm going to meet my new trainer who is going to assess me to make sure I can do my job. Let's hope that goes well. I need to have my walkie-talkie! Just because I'm not exactly positive on the codes and stuff yet doesn't matter, because it makes me look spiffy and authoritive, hehehe. I'll try to post some more later because I need to finish getting ready for work. Oh, I really want to thank all of you who are reading this because it makes me feel better. So that's why I try to write something whenever I can. Well, I'll tell Mickey all of you say hi!

Whoo hoo!

Okay! Today was a bit better because my smart self went ahead and just pulled the darn pants all the way up to my chest. At first I cared, but after 10 mins or so I really could have cared less. I went to Target with Steph after work and we got me some of those fancy under armour shorts! I will have to take a look at that body glide stuff though that Mary mentioned. My ears are sunburned, but I'm happy. Okay, I'm exhausted. Good night guys!

SIR! To the right please!

OMG. I learned the last of my positions today. In total, there are over 10 different positions I'll be working and that's just for this one attraction. Today I seated people and directed them to fill seats and stay away from the reserved seats. I'm chaffing really bad because my costume pants are ridiculously bad. I met more of my fellow co-workers and two of them are from England and I finally realized just how much I love British accents. I can barely understand them on the walkie-talkie, but it's cool. My job is pretty stressful and today I was smart and got a hat. Unfortunately, the costuming people are not as friendly as I remember them and I had to argue with the lady to get a hat and by the time she gave me a hat, I just didn't care. So I've got a super dorky white hat. I'm sure as soon as I get some correct fitting pants, I'll be good. I also finally got to see my show and it is mind-blowing! I totally loved all the stunts. There's action, explosions and humor! Today the hero motorcyclist's bike flipped over into the water (it's not supposed to), but she was more believable than the other male stunt drivers. My sunburn isn't as noticable as it was yesterday. I'll be caking myself in sun block. It's amazing how rude and pushy people can be in the heat, but I like to think I made a couple of people happy. I even had a lovely elderly couple thank me for being nice! I totally love when guests use my name-only when they're happy though. Well, there's not much else I can think of to tell you all except "WHOOOOOO!" I did that all day with the guests trying to get them excited, it was fun. Pretty soon I'll need to test for my Japanese language pin, but after I brush up on it. Okay, I need to be getting in bed. So good night guys!

...OH...almost forgot. We have a mockingbird in a tree near my attraction that attacks everyone. Today it swooped me twice! I actually ran from it, but no one else was around, hehehehe. I was walking and looking down at my shadow when I noticed this bird shadow flying directly for my shadow and I ducked down just in time. Then I began to walk a little more swiftly and looked back down to see it coming again for a second time, so I ducked and then promptly fled. I hope it doesn't attack any guests. Okay, seriously, I'm going to bed now.

Rock Lobster!

Okay so I totally got sunburned and my job actually puts me in full responsiblity of other peoples lives! I have to open gates and close them, then report it all on a walkie-talkie! They gave me a walkie-talkie! It's insane! I also ended up getting sick during the most important part of the show. I was in what's called the "merge" position where I direct the massive crowd and seperate them into groups; wheelchairs on one side and walkers on the other. It was insane and freaked me out a little. I do think it's totally cool though, because I am sort of part of show. From what I've seen of the show so far is pretty awesome! I loved watching the cars make jumps and the synchronization of the cars and motorcycles. Tomorrow I get to actually watch the show, and my trainer told me that next week I'll learn how to do the "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" attraction. I'm excited about that, and it's cool how there's so much to do and how I get to interact with the guests. Oh and the fact that I'm not the only one with awkward sweat stains on my butt and underarms is AWESOME! Of course my butt wasn't bad because I wore boxers to keep from chaffing because the pants don't fit me very well. Like, their way too big in all areas except length and waist. It's weird. Did I mention I got sunburned really bad? Therefore none of you shall see another picture of me until it goes away, hahahaha. ...My face really hurts and I think I'm going to get one of those white straw hats, the kind that you picture Southern Gentlemen to wear, only women wear them too... Yea. Okay so here's some of me dressed up going to an orientation and then me in my costume. 'Night guys!

Muwahahahaha

Today I start at Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show. I've never seen it and now I'm nervous! The show is from Paris, but I think my costume is pretty sweet. I'll post pictures of it later. It's like 8:40am and I have to be at work at 10am. I'm really nervous. I hope I do okay. Last night was fun because I got to see Steph and Courtney's (me and Steph's uber cool housemate) Soarin' costumes...Let's just say they wear "dickies" (scarves). Hehehe, they'd kill me if I put a pic of their costume on here, but they told me they got stopped and a guest asked for their picture which is totally cool. Yesterday I had to tour my park in my dress clothes and I was dying. They took away our bikes backstage so we had to walk everywhere. Alas, it was cool though because I sort of looked like a manager and that helped because I will get there one day. We didn't see my show though which made me a little frustrated, and I was the only one out of 22 that had the Extreme Stunt Show. Oh did you guys know that MGM will soon be Disney's Hollywood Studios? Yeah I was sort of miffed about it too. Let's see what else...Oh we went to Property Control yesterday too, but it's really changed... Okay, I need to finish getting ready, wish me luck!

Duuuude...

'Kay, so like I was in a orientation today for 4 freaking hours! And I totally hate the negative people that come here and complain about the company and how they hate their job and yadda yadda yadda. How can you not love a company that worries about the guest's experience and tries to make magic for children all over the world? They just need to leave! It's only the third day and I cannot believe how negative people have been today. Even the CP's that are here and have been for a while were bad, they told us to run and ugh... I just can't let the negative people get to me. I'm pumped to be here and I will become someone who makes magic for everyone I meet, so there!! Okay, sorry about the rant. I need to now try and call our friend to do a pasta party at the girl across the hall's house. Fun.

Here's the evidence:

So I finally got my job assignment and it's actually okay. I get to wear a normal costume and work with special effects and stuff. Unfortunately I have to be careful about what I post because I had to sign disclaimers and stuff. Therefore, I'm not entirely sure what I can and cannot post. So...hmmm... With out further ado, here are pics of my apartment and room. Sweet right? I think I forgot to mention that my bed was broke when I got here so I had to put my box spring and mattress on the floor. At least my room looks cool. Oh and I made it so you guys can leave me messages!

Just my luck...

Weeeeeell guess what? My room is on the third floor!!! Argh, I'm so ready to just die now. I was so soaked with sweat that it looked like I had just climbed out of a pool. The good thing is that my apartment is one of the nice ones!! And I've got my own bathroom and stuff. It's totally cool! I'll post pictures later. I got in yesterday and checked in this morning. So I'm just now really sitting down, although I still have a lot to do (like hanging up my shirts and stuff). I won't find out where I work until tomorrow. I also need to figure out how to mooch off the people across the hall- they have a wireless router and one of my roomies is using it to her advantage. Me? I'm hooked up to the wall to the ethernet. Earlier we went to Wal-Mart to get some stuff for the room as well as groceries. We had to make two trips to the store and let me tell you...NO ONE SHOULD EVER HAVE TO BE AT WALLY WORLD MORE THAN 3 HOURS!!!! Every CP and their parent and parents aunt was at that particular Wal-Mart buying crap. At least we got nice stuff for the room. My bathroom is sweeeeeeeet. As I said earlier, I'll post pictures later. I'm so exhausted after going up and down those stairs more than a human being should. At least we know I'm getting exercise...that and I think I've already lost 10 lbs. Okay, I'm going to go finish hanging stuff and making my room mine.

Oh em gee!

Welp, it's coming down to the wire... I leave Sunday and fly south for the winter! I'm getting so excited about it and extremely nervous. Have I ever mentioned I hate flying? Like REEEEALLY hate it? The year before last when I flew down to FL, I was the randomly chosen woman to be felt up by the ever so nice security guards. As I was standing there looking like a convict the guard had asked me a question and I sort of lowered my arms and leaned down to hear what she said, and she flipped out and jumped back telling me to put my hands back up. It's always an adventure in my life. Aaaaaaaand back to the present where I still don't feel like I've done everything I need to do. Let's see, I packed my important things, went to the dentist (and bit my cheek like 50 times), tried to visit Dad (I still need to visit him again before I leave), tried to spend time with just about everyone I need to. Argh. I've got five days to wrap everything up as well as I can. I'll now leave you with the words of Alfredo Linguini- LET'S DO THIS THING!

Kids and ADULTS shouldn't play with fire

So mom almost caught herself, our pool, and our dogs on fire yesterday. It was pretty funny watching her running around screaming, holding a flaming gas can in her arm. She then jammed her hand into our pool and the fire spread on top of the water (obviously someone didn't pay attention in chemistry) so she started smacking the water to try and put it out. It all ended well, but man was it funny. There were little strips of fire on the drive-way in the backyard. It was like watching the Sound of Music, only imagine Julie Andrews screaming and holding a flaming red container full of gas combined with Fantasmic's pyro effects on water and land. ...Mom's antics are probably going to be one the few things I will miss about home. I'm eventually going to begin packing stuff up and getting ready. I still need to pick up my last paycheck... Hmm, so much to do and I lack the motivation and effort to try and get it all done. Speaking of which, I had better try at least arranging my stuff into piles of what I'm taking and what I'm leaving behind for now.
